Basic Responsibilities:
- Supports the banquet team while working closely with the wedding party, Chef, catering department
and other hotel departments. - Responsible for proactively reviewing staffing and equipment needs
- Responsible for maintaining a high energy, positive, professional appearance
- Creates an environment establishing highest standards of quality service and ensures implementation through effective training development and continuous reinforcement
- Ensuring that all employees adhere to the company's uniform standards
- Meeting and greeting guests
- Able to perform administrative tasks set forth by management
- Training and motivating staff
- Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety
- Checking stock levels and giving information for the Manager/Chef to order

Position Summary:
Responsible for overall operation for the Restaurant & Conference Centre, the Food & Beverage Manager hires
staff and make sure everyone is trained on proper and legal alcoholic beverage service and kitchen safety
techniques and understand health standards by working with the Executive Chef & GM.
The Food & Beverage manager makes sure that company is represented correctly and that the company's
standards are upheld. The Food & Beverage manager sets daily and weekly cleaning schedules for the
restaurant and conference center, hire, train and discipline employees and set work schedules. They keep tabs
on food cost, waste, and employee hours, doing their best to optimize profit for their company and create the
best dining experience possible for customers/guests.
Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
- Handle all Food & Beverage inquiries and ensure timely follow up
- Preparation of Sales Promotions (Emails, social media and/or Mailings)
- Development and maintenance of all department control procedures
- Ensure quality of meeting room set-ups before start times
- Work with the Executive Chef, to ensure all arrangements and details are dealt with, regarding Food &
Beverage for all functions - Establish a rapport with groups to ensure guest satisfaction and repeat business
- Ensure a professional attitude and proper business attire when on property, ready to meet or service a
client at any time - Responsible for staff training and development
- Ensure all staff have ‘Smart Serve’ certification
- Ensure proper hiring procedures followed for all Food & Beverage staff
- Discipline of personnel when required
- To confirm all details relative to group functions with meeting/banquet planners
- Supervision of daily paper flow including Proposals, and Function Contracts
- Directly responsible for all function billings and regarding accuracy and timeliness
- To assist in all menus planning and pricing
- Completion of monthly inventory
- Assure the completion of weekly schedule and shift duties while maintaining labour costs are kept
below the level set by the General Manager - Purchasing of small wares, linens requirements etc.
- Be available to Food & Beverage staff always during functions in case of emergency
- Ensure the maintenance of bar control policies
- Ensure bar inventory for functions, including opening and closing inventories, accurate bar summaries
and cash deposits are prepared - Ensure the ordering and purchasing of beer, wine, liquor, premix canisters and canned soft for Food &
Beverage and vending - Participation towards overall Hotel Maintenance and cleanliness
- Report any deficiencies in equipment and facilities
- Must have a complete knowledge of Fire Procedures
- Participation in Manager on Duty shifts as required
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the General Manager
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Any hospitality experience is an asset
